Dr. Shinduk Lee is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Utah. She holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University (2009), followed by an MSPH in Biostatistics (2012) and a DrPH in Health Promotion and Community Health Sciences (2018), also from Texas A&M. Her research focuses on implementing and evaluating disease prevention programs for middle-aged and older adults, emphasizing healthy aging, technology adoption in caregiving, and health equity for marginalized populations such as deaf individuals and dementia caregivers.
Dr. Lee’s professional activities include roles on the Aging and Public Health Section of the American Public Health Association’s committees, particularly in award selection for student research. She teaches courses like 'Application of Outcome Measures' and 'Practical Statistics' in the nursing curriculum.
Her recent grants include funding for developing digital platforms to assist dementia caregivers (Olera.care project) and studying opioid prescribing practices. Her research spans caregiver technology use, diabetes education for deaf communities, and fall risk factors in aging populations. Notable projects include the Deaf Diabetes Can Together intervention and evaluations of caregiver support platforms.
Dr. Lee’s work emphasizes translating evidence-based practices into scalable solutions, with a focus on reducing healthcare disparities through culturally competent interventions and technology integration.
