معرفی
Dr. Shijiao Huang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, Kansas State University. Her research focuses on understanding how neural signaling modulates aging and health, with a particular emphasis on pharmacological interventions for age-related diseases like cancer. She employs multidisciplinary approaches including molecular biology, genetics, neuroscience, and biochemistry using C. elegans and cell culture models.
- Education:
- B.S. in Biology, Nanchang University (2005)
- Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Peking University (2012)
Her work explores the role of neural environmental cues in physiological health, stress resistance, and metabolic longevity. She has contributed to studies on C. elegans aging, Golgi dynamics, and pharmacological tools for longevity research.
Scientific Awards include the Midwest Aging Consortium Symposium Travel Award (2023), Best Poster Awards at Midwest C. elegans meetings (2019, 2023), and recognition as a Postdoc180 Finalist (2019).
Dr. Huang’s lab is based in Chalmers Hall, Room 66, and she collaborates with institutions like the Leiser Lab and Midwest Aging Consortium. Contact: shijiaoh@ksu.edu
