معرفی
Professor Shiho Kobayashi is a leading theoretical astrophysicist at the Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI) of Liverpool John Moores University, specializing in time domain astronomy and gravitational wave astrophysics. Her research spans gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave sources, relativistic hydrodynamics, and galactic center dynamics.
- PhD in Physics from Tokyo Institute of Technology
- Former postdoctoral researcher in Japan, Israel, and the US
Her work on GRBs has contributed to understanding jet structure, magnetic fields, and multiwavelength afterglow phenomena. Recent publications focus on GRB 240825A, GRB 211211A, and insights from the Einstein Probe mission. She has received prestigious awards including the Vice Chancellor's Medal and the Bruno Rossi Prize.
As Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) at ARI, she champions inclusivity in astrophysics. She actively participates in international collaborations, including DECIGO working groups and IAU symposia, and advises on STFC panels and PhD theses.
