معرفی
Shigeru Amemiya is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh's Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on nanoelectrochemistry and bioanalytical chemistry, particularly studying interfacial transport processes at liquid/liquid interfaces, biomembranes, and developing advanced electrochemical sensors. He leads the Amemiya Group, which employs techniques like scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and computational simulations to explore membrane transport phenomena and sensor innovation.
Key research areas include chemical imaging of biomembranes, molecular recognition-based sensors, and computational modeling of electrochemical processes. His work addresses applications in biomedical, environmental, and materials science contexts. Amemiya has received notable awards including the NSF CAREER Award (2007-2012) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Fellowship (1998-2001). His group actively engages in graduate education and is known for pioneering nanoscale electrochemical methodologies.
