Sherry Lee is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, with affiliations at Trinity College and Victoria College. She currently serves as Director of the Northrop Frye Centre and leads the international Environmental Humanities and Climate Justice research cluster with Oxford and Pennsylvania Universities.

Her research spans 19th- and 20th-century music, focusing on intersections of modernist culture, opera, technology, environmental discourse, and philosophical aesthetics. She is co-editing Music, Sound, and Global Modernism for Cambridge University Press and authoring Adorno at the Opera.
Sherry Lee has received multiple grants and awards from organizations including SSHRC, the Jackman Humanities Institute, and the American Musicological Society. She has served on editorial boards for Cambridge Opera Journal and organized academic events like the Weather Soundings symposium.
