Sheri Oyan is an Adjunct Professor of Saxophone at Virginia Commonwealth University and Longwood University, where she teaches and mentors students in saxophone performance. She is a freelance musician and private teacher in Richmond, VA, with a thriving studio and extensive performance experience in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings.

- Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in Saxophone Performance, Virginia Commonwealth University
Her primary research and performance interests include new music, chamber ensemble collaboration, and musical theater. She has been instrumental in commissioning contemporary works like Jenni Watson’s Adjusting Parameters and has performed at notable events such as the Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium. As a versatile performer, she contributes to orchestras like the Richmond Symphony and works as a woodwind doubler and bassist at Swift Creek Mill Theatre since 2007.
Dr. Oyan is the soprano saxophonist in the quux saxophone quartet and founder of the quux collective, a new music ensemble dedicated to innovative and collaborative performances.
