Sheri-Marie Harrison is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Faculty Success at the University of Missouri’s College of Arts and Science. She holds a PhD from the University of Miami (2008). Her research focuses on Caribbean literary and cultural studies, contemporary global Anglophone literature, and African Diaspora mass culture. She also serves as the Faculty Fellow for Faculty Development, Diversity, and Inclusion in the College of Arts and Science.
Her work bridges postcolonial theory with contemporary literary analysis, particularly examining representations of sovereignty, gender, and race. Key publications include the monograph *Difficult Subjects: Negotiating Sovereignty in Postcolonial Jamaican Literature* (2014), and articles in *Modern Fiction Studies*, *Small Axe*, and *Los Angeles Review of Books*. Current projects include a study of Marlon James’ work and a manuscript exploring contemporary fiction and iconoclasm.
Her scholarship demonstrates a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches, engaging themes such as migrancy, neoliberalism, and decolonial aesthetics. Recent work expands into globalgothic frameworks and re-examings of historical narratives through postcolonial lenses. She actively contributes to academic leadership roles, fostering inclusive academic environments and advancing faculty success initiatives.
