Shereif El-Sheikh is a part-time Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Boston University's College of Arts & Sciences (CAS). He also teaches at BU’s Metropolitan College and Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies. Holding an Ed.D from Harvard University, Dr. El-Sheikh combines academic instruction with extensive industry experience as a software engineer.

His teaching focuses on Android Mobile Application Development (CAS CS 591), Scrum methodologies, and object-oriented design using technologies like Java, C#, and .NET. He specializes in database-driven systems, including Oracle, MS SQL Server, and legacy system migration. His industry experience includes roles as a Scrum Master and developer for clients such as the Federal Department of Transportation, Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services, Philips Healthcare, and Harvard University.
Dr. El-Sheikh’s expertise spans client/server architecture, core Oracle OCI API, and data migration strategies. His classroom instruction integrates real-world software engineering challenges and modern development best practices.
