Shenggen Fan

Shenggen Fan currently serves as Chair Professor and Dean of the Academy of Global Food Economics and Policy (AGFEP) at China Agricultural University (CAU), following his tenure as Director General of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) from 2009 to 2019.

His research spans public investment, food and nutrition security, agricultural development, poverty reduction, and food systems transformation, with notable impact on India's rural infrastructure policies that reduced hunger and poverty. He has provided critical policy advice to governments across China, Vietnam, and Africa, shaping national strategies for sustainable food systems.

Dr. Fan's accolades include:
