Shelleta Ladonice

Dr. Shelleta Ladonice is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Augusta University's Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Central Florida (2024), an MSW from the University of Southern California (2013), and a BSW from the University of South Florida (2009). Her research prioritizes equitable access to health and social services for immigrant and refugee populations, particularly Haitian communities, emphasizing culturally appropriate interventions. She teaches courses including Introduction to Social Work Practice and Foundations of Social Work Practice.

Recent scholarship includes studies on refugee wellbeing post-resettlement, racial disparities in social work practice, and multigenerational housing approaches for domestic violence prevention. She serves on the BSW Faculty Committee (2024–Present) and is a Board Member of The Whole Elephant (2025–Present).
