Shelia Ingram

Shelia Ingram serves as an Instructor in the Department of Curriculum Instruction at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's School of Education, concurrently holding the position of Director of The Office of Clinical Experiences since August 2023.

Her academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Education, Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of Alabama, conferred in December 2013.

Dr. Ingram specializes in teacher preparation through clinical experiences, designing and supervising internship programs across diverse educational domains. Her expertise spans early childhood education (P-3/3-6), secondary subject instruction, foreign language pedagogy, and music education, with emphasis on real-world classroom application and mentorship of pre-service teachers.

As Director of Clinical Experiences, she oversees student teaching placements and coordinates partnerships with K-12 schools. Her instructional portfolio includes courses such as ECE490 (Early Childhood), EEC490/EEC690 (P-3/3-6 Internships), EHS490/EHS691 (Secondary Internships), and specialized programs in foreign languages and music education.
