Sheima Khatib is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University's Whitacre College of Engineering. Her research focuses on sustainable catalytic processes, structure-activity relations in heterogeneous catalysis, and reactor engineering, particularly membrane reactors. She holds a PhD from the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry (CSIC)/Autonomous University (UAM), Spain, and M.S./B.S. degrees from the University of Malaga, Spain.
Her work emphasizes methane dehydroaromatization catalyst design, combining experimental and computational methods. Key honors include the NSF CAREER Award (2019), Texas Tech Whitacre Research Award (2020), and Jerry S. Rawls Educator Award (2022). She is affiliated with the ACS, AIChE, and ASEE.
