Dr. Sheila Klassen-Wiebe is an Associate Professor of New Testament in the Department of Biblical and Theological Studies at Canadian Mennonite University. She has taught at CMU and its predecessor institutions since 1993, offering courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels including Synoptic Gospels, Biblical Greek, Luke-Acts, and Biblical Perspectives on Peace and Justice.
Education includes:

- MDiv, Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries (1988)
- BA in History, University of Manitoba (1984)
- BTh, Canadian Mennonite Bible College (1983)
Her research focuses on Jesus and the Gospels, particularly exploring the historical Jesus and contemporary discipleship. Current work includes a commentary on the Epistle of James for the Believers Church Bible Commentary series. Her scholarship bridges textual analysis with practical theology, examining themes of community identity and ethical living.
Klassen-Wiebe's publications demonstrate consistent engagement with New Testament interpretation, especially Johannine literature and the Epistle of James. Recent works explore ecclesiology, hermeneutics, and the application of biblical texts to modern faith communities.
Beyond academia, she actively contributes to Charleswood Mennonite Church through preaching and adult education, and leads Bible studies in diverse contexts including correctional facilities.
