Sheena Calvert

Sheena Calvert is a Senior Lecturer in Contextual Studies Design at Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Arts, part of the University of the Arts London (UAL). She is also affiliated with the Royal College of Art (Visual Communication) for teaching activities.

Her research focuses on the intersection of material language, philosophy, and design. Her recent publications span topics like AI language ethics, luxury branding, and the philosophy of punctuation. These works emphasize interdisciplinary methodologies and the tactile dimensions of communication.

Grants include Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funding (2015-2016) for research on books as drivers of human culture. She supervises graduate students such as Hamid Dhawi and Fahad Ali in projects exploring bilingual communication design.
