Shawn O’Neil

Shawn O’Neil is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Center for Health AI. He focuses on developing methods for health data analysis using machine learning, AI, and bioinformatics. His work emphasizes model interpretability and scalability in large, high-dimensional biomedical datasets.

Education: PhD and M.S. from University of Notre Dame (2012/2009), B.S. from Northern Michigan University. Previously served as Senior Faculty Research Assistant at Oregon State University's Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing.
