Shaun Bloomfield is an Associate Professor at Northumbria University's Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering Department. His research focuses on solar physics, particularly solar flare forecasting, space weather prediction, and the application of machine learning in heliophysics. He holds a PhD and MSc in Astrophysics from Queen's University Belfast (2005 and 2001, respectively).
