Dr. Shaul Mitelpunkt is a Senior Lecturer in Modern History at the University of York, specializing in 20th-century U.S. cultural, diplomatic, and military history. He holds a BA from Tel Aviv University and MA/PhD from the University of Chicago.
His research examines militarism and U.S.-Israeli relations, including the monograph Israel in the American Mind (Cambridge, 2018). Current work explores American military labor perceptions in 'The Military Mystique' project, supported by a Leverhulme Fellowship.
He teaches courses on conflict reportage and American society, and serves as Examinations Officer.
