Shauhin E. Alavi

Dr. Shauhin E. Alavi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior in the Department for the Ecology of Animal Societies, Konstanz, Germany. His interdisciplinary work bridges evolutionary anthropology and animal behavior through theoretical modeling and intensive field research on animal-environment interactions.

Dr. Alavi earned his PhD at Rutgers University under Dr. Erin Vogel in the Laboratory for Primate Dietary Ecology and Physiology. His doctoral research utilized high-resolution spatial mapping and multispectral satellite remote sensing to analyze orangutans' cognitive strategies for macronutrient balancing.
