Shashank Mishra is an Associate Professor at the University of Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL) since 2021, where he coordinates the international Master's program in Synthesis, Catalysis, and Sustainable Chemistry (M2 SCSC). His research bridges inorganic chemistry and nanostructured materials, focusing on molecular precursor engineering for oxide, non-oxide, and hybrid nanomaterials. Active collaborations span institutions in France, Germany, Sweden, India, and Brazil.
Research Highlights:
- Mechanistic studies of molecular intermediates in nanoparticle formation
- Low-temperature synthesis strategies for metal chalcogenides and upconverting fluorides
- Design of high-surface-area catalysts for aerobic oxidation and CO2 conversion
- 2D material synthesis via single-source precursors for photocatalytic water splitting
Scientific Recognition:
- Emerging Investigator (2022) in Crystal Growth & Design
- Two University Scientific Excellence Awards (2015, 2019)
- CNRS Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2004) and CSIR Senior Research Fellowship (2002)
Teaching & Mentorship: Designs advanced courses on inorganic nanomaterials and nanostructuring. Has supervised 6 PhD students and 10+ Master's students to completion. His group trains students in metal-organic synthesis, sol-gel techniques, and physicochemical characterization.
