Sharyl Cross

Dr. Sharyl Cross is a Professor and Director of the Kozmetsky Center at St. Edward's University. She also serves as a Global Policy Fellow at the Kennan Institute, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Previously, she held positions as Professor at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies and Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Education:

• BA in Political Science from the University of Arizona, 1983

Research Interests: Dr. Cross focuses on international relations with regional expertise in Russia/Eurasia and Southeast Europe. Her work examines global geopolitics, particularly the roles of China and Russia in 21st-century international dynamics, as highlighted in her co-authored book China, Russia and Twenty First Century Global Geopolitics (Oxford University Press, 2018).
