Dr. Sharon Strickland (also known as Sheri Strickland) is a Professor of Chemistry and Associate Chair of the Natural Sciences Department at Converse University. She joined the faculty in 2006 and has taught over 30 courses, including Organic Chemistry I/II, Advanced Organic Chemistry, and Quantitative Analysis. Her work bridges synthetic chemistry and biomedical applications, with a focus on measuring intermolecular forces to advance drug design.
Research interests include:
- Synthesis and analysis of molecular balances
- Quantifying stability of molecular conformations
- Applications in protein behavior and pharmaceutical design
- Active learning methodologies in chemical education
