Associate Professor Sharon Stephen is affiliated with the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and boundary layer stability, with a particular emphasis on hypersonic flows and thermal effects. She holds a PhD and has contributed to advancing computational methods for analyzing fluid dynamics phenomena.
Her work includes investigations into the stability of boundary layers under various conditions, such as heated stretching sheets, rotating disks, and temperature-dependent viscosity. She has published in journals like Physics of Fluids and Journal of Fluid Mechanics, and presented at conferences including the Australasian Fluid Mechanics Conference.
Professor Stephen has secured grants for projects like Effects of wall cooling on hypersonic boundary layers and Passive porous walls in hypersonic flows. Her research bridges theoretical analysis and applied engineering solutions for fluid dynamics challenges.
