Sharon Schaeffer

Sharon Schaeffer is a Lecturer in the Department of Public & Allied Health at Bowling Green State University's College of Health & Human Services. With a career spanning hospital nursing and 17 years in local public health, she brings expertise in management, epidemiology, disaster planning, and grant-funded program design to her teaching. She joined BGSU as full-time faculty after serving as an Adjunct faculty member for 5 years.

Her research and practice focus on public health principles, including community needs assessment, health education, and international health. She teaches courses such as Medical Terminology, International Health, and Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Sharon actively engages students across degree programs, emphasizing practical applications of public health in diverse careers.
