Dr. Sharon M. Karp is a Professor and Chair of the Acute and Chronic Care Community at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She holds a PhD in Nursing Science from Vanderbilt University and has been on faculty since 2008. Her clinical practice includes pediatric primary care and weight management at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital. Dr. Karp specializes in maternal-child health outcomes, particularly childhood obesity prevention and at-risk parenting interventions. She chairs the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Research Committee and has led the Childhood Obesity SIG for six years.
