Sharon Carnicke

Sharon Carnicke is a Professor of Theatre and Slavic Languages at the University of Southern California (Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences). Her office is located in DRC 101, and she can be reached at carnicke@usc.edu. She holds a Ph.D. in Russian/Theatre Arts from Columbia University (1979) and has taught at institutions including New York University and the Moscow Art Theatre-Studio School.

She is the author of The Theatrical Instinct and Stanislavsky In Focus, with expertise in translating and directing works like The Seagull, which earned her an American College Theatre Festival Award. Her research spans theatrical and literary traditions, bridging Russian and world performance studies.
