Sharon Brown is an associate professor in the Voice department at Berklee College of Music, where she teaches vocal technique, musical theater workshops, and vocal pedagogy. She has also taught at Simmons College, the Boston Conservatory, and Northeastern University. As a mezzo-soprano, she has performed with the Boston Lyric Opera Chorus, Boston Academy, Intermezzo Chamber Opera, and Salisbury Lyric Opera, and has extensive experience in oratorio and choral conducting.
Her conducting roles include founding the Boston Conservatory Women's Chorus, directing the Simmons College Choral, and serving as music director for the Fisk Methodist Church in Natick for 20 years. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in vocal performance from the Boston Conservatory, where she studied with Elisabeth Phinney.
Sharon combines her expertise in vocal performance and pedagogy to bridge academic instruction with professional practice in the music industry.
