Sharon Broadley-Martin is an Associate Professor in the Contemporary Writing and Production department at Berklee College of Music, where she has taught vocal writing since 2002. She coauthored the advanced vocal writing curriculum with department chair Matthew Nicholl and has 30 jazz vocal arrangements published through UNC Press. Broadley-Martin has recorded four CDs with Nippon/Columbia Records and two with Pausa Records as a composer, arranger, and vocalist. She has performed globally at festivals such as George Wein's Jazz Fest (Japan), Montreal Jazz Fest, and Boston Hatch Shell.
As a studio singer, she collaborated with Emmy-winning producer Brad Hatfield. Broadley-Martin directed the Berklee Jazz Choir, Boston College's B.C. Bop, and numerous all-state and college ensembles nationwide. Her expertise spans arranging, music theory, harmony, ear training, and vocal pedagogy, with a focus on jazz and contemporary music education.
