Sharmin Tania is a Senior Lecturer at Curtin Law School, Curtin University, specializing in international trade law, refugee law, and law and development. Her interdisciplinary research addresses legal frameworks for sustainable development and human rights protection.

Research interests span international trade, environmental law, investment law, refugee law, and South Asian legal systems. Current projects examine WTO dispute settlement reforms, corporate accountability in renewable energy, and nationality rights. Recent publications analyze special differential treatment in trade agreements and cultural dimensions of unconscionability in consumer law.
Supervision includes completed PhD projects on international investment law and corporate accountability in shipbreaking industries, with current supervision in renewable energy human rights and nationality law. Recognized with multiple awards including Curtin Law School's 2018 Research Prize and Teaching Award.
