Shari Jacobson is an Associate Professor of Anthropology and Department Head of Sociology and Anthropology at Susquehanna University, located within the School of Natural and Social Sciences. Her academic journey includes roles as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, work at the United Nations, and teaching English in China and Los Angeles. She transitioned to anthropology via graduate studies in international development with a focus on education, ultimately pursuing research on ultra-orthodox Jewish communities in Buenos Aires and fundamentalist/evangelical Christian groups in the U.S.
