Dave Ramsaran

Dave Ramsaran is a Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at Susquehanna University, where he has taught since 2000. He also serves as Director of the Honors Program and has held leadership roles including Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. His work bridges academic scholarship with community engagement, particularly in Caribbean studies and globalization.

Ramsaran's research interrogates globalization's impact on race, class, and gender dynamics, focusing on Caribbean societies. His work critiques neoliberal development policies, analyzes cultural identity formation, and explores how marginalized communities navigate capitalist restructuring. He integrates sociological theory with empirical analysis to challenge dominant narratives about economic progress and social equity.
