Shanta Trivedi

Shanta Trivedi is an Assistant Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts at the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Her research focuses on Child Welfare, Family Law, and Reproductive Justice, addressing systemic inequities in family separation policies. She advocates for primary prevention approaches to protect marginalized families.

Recent publications examine family policing systems, child removal harms, and legislative reforms like the Adoption and Safe Families Act. Her work emphasizes constitutional rights and community-centered solutions.

As Faculty Director, she leads initiatives at the Meyerhoff Center and advises the Family Law Association. She partners with nonprofits and has testified before state legislatures on family welfare policies.
