معرفی
Shannon Duffy is a Research Fellow in the Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases (EMD) Department at the Yale School of Public Health. She holds a PhD (2023) and BS (2016) in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University. Her research focuses on global health diagnostics, particularly the Cytophone non-invasive malaria detection technology, and zoonotic tuberculosis transmission dynamics. She collaborates with Dr. Sunil Parikh and institutions in Burkina Faso to advance field-based studies in Africa.
Her work bridges molecular epidemiology, engineering, and clinical practice, with emphasis on malaria diagnostics and mycobacterial infections. Key projects include evaluating the second-generation Cytophone prototype in Dandé, Burkina Faso, and investigating M. orygis hypervirulence. Her articles span molecular detection methods, zoonotic TB epidemiology, and mycobacterial genetics.
Shannon’s multidisciplinary approach integrates engineering, microbiology, and global health, aiming to improve diagnostics and combat infectious diseases in resource-limited settings.
