Shannon Cooper-Sadlo, Ph.D., M.S.W., LCSW, is an Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Saint Louis University. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSSW) from Saint Louis University, a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Denver, and a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Louis University.
Her research focuses on Substance Use, Trauma-informed Care, and Justice-Involved Families, with a particular emphasis on women’s issues and family therapy. She teaches courses such as Family Therapy, Clinical Practice with Families, Individuals, and Couples, and Approaches to Trauma Education.
Dr. Cooper-Sadlo has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Outstanding Professor of the Year (2017-2019) and the Kappa Alpha Theta Outstanding Professor (2016). Her work bridges clinical practice with academic research, addressing critical issues in social work such as maternal substance use recovery and reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals.
