Dr. Shanker Radhakrishna Prabhu is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth, affiliated with the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and the Centre for Environmental and Renewable Energy Solutions. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Greenwich, a Master’s in Mechatronics from the University of Newcastle, and a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum (University of Kerala). His research focuses on evolutionary robotics, care robotics, and AI-driven robotics applications, alongside green hydrogen technologies and maritime surveillance systems.
His academic contributions span robotics, energy systems, and power electronics, with notable work on green hydrogen production economics, electrolyser degradation models, and maritime surveillance algorithms. He is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
