معرفی
Shane T. Mueller is a Professor in the Psychology and Human Factors Department at Michigan Technological University, specializing in cognitive science and human factors. His research focuses on human memory, perceptual processes, and decision-making mechanisms, with a strong emphasis on computational modeling. He developed the Psychology Experiment Building Language (PEBL), a software platform for creating psychological experiments.
Dr. Mueller's work is supported by funding agencies including NIH, DARPA, IARPA, and the Air Force Research Laboratory. He holds a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Michigan (2002) and previously worked as a Senior Scientist at Klein Associates.
His research interests include cognitive modeling, recognitional decision-making, and cultural knowledge representations. He teaches advanced statistical methods in R for psychology and data science, as evidenced by his course materials for PSY 5210/5220. His contributions span AI explainability, human-AI collaboration, and educational software development.
Recent publications address topics such as cognitive empathy in AI chatbots, generative AI in construction, and evaluation frameworks for explainable AI systems. Mueller's interdisciplinary work bridges cognitive science, engineering, and healthcare, with a focus on practical applications of theoretical models.
