Veinott's research focuses on two core areas: 1) Decision-making in high-stakes environments (e.g., disaster response teams), and 2) Game-based learning innovations. She has developed evidence-based training methods for mitigating cognitive biases and improving collaborative planning. Recent work explores video game technologies for STEM skill development across K-12 and university levels. Her projects address challenges like rail safety decision-making and dynamic analytic process improvement in intelligence analysis.
Funding sources include IARPA, DARPA, AFRL, and the Army Research Institute. She leads interdisciplinary teams in human-robot interfaces, adaptive instructional systems, and makerspace innovation. Her work combines empirical studies with practical applications, emphasizing real-world impact in both academic and industrial settings.
