Shane Murphy

Shane Murphy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance at the School of Business, University of Connecticut (Storrs Campus). He specializes in healthcare economics and policy, focusing on healthcare quality measurement, health inequality, and global health outcomes. He holds a PhD from Lancaster University (UK, 2016) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (2016–2018).

Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Healthcare Management, Health and Social Insurance, and Risk and Insurance. His research spans topics like hospital performance evaluation, child mortality trends, and the economic impacts of health policies in low- and middle-income countries.
