Shane McKinder is a Teaching Professor and Associate Head (Students) at the School of Law, University of Portsmouth. He also serves as a Senior Teaching Fellow, Course Leader, and Admissions Tutor for Undergraduate Law Programmes. His research focuses on children's social care law, child protection, and alignment with international human rights obligations, particularly the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. He teaches modules such as Child and Family Law, International Family Law, Equality Law, and Legal Writing.
