Shandell Cummings

Shandell Cummings is a Researcher at the UWA School of Agriculture and Environment, with a focus on Indigenous-led conservation and traditional ecological knowledge (TEK). She is based at the UWA Albany campus and holds a casual teaching role in Indigenous and biodiversity units. Her research emphasizes Merningar boodja (Menang Country), exploring community-driven conservation strategies and 2-way science approaches. She collaborates with Noongar Elders and contributes to projects like the 'Walking Together' initiative.

Shandell has conducted research on biodiversity, Mediterranean climate ecosystems, and Indigenous methodologies.
