Shakti S Gupta

Shakti S Gupta is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur). He specializes in Engineering Mechanics with a focus on linear and nonlinear structural mechanics, mechanics of nanomaterials, and molecular simulations for material characterization.

Research Interests: His work spans the mechanics of nanoscale structures such as carbon nanotubes and graphene sheets, with a strong emphasis on computational modeling, nonlocal elasticity theories, and vibration analysis of nanomaterials. He also investigates mode localization in composite laminates.
