Dr. Shailendra Gupta is an Adjunct Professor of Bioinformatics at Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University and holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Department of Systems Biology & Bioinformatics, University of Rostock, Germany. He is also a Senior Scientist at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research in Lucknow, India. His research integrates systems biology, bioinformatics, and experimental approaches to address translational challenges in cancer biology, immunotherapy, and inflammation resolution.
Key research interests include E2F1 signaling in tumor progression, non-coding RNA regulation (especially miRNAs), computational drug screening, and personalized cancer immunotherapy. He has developed workflows combining patient-specific mutation and HLA profiling for immunotherapy design, as well as tools for miRNA target prediction and 3D structure analysis. His work on the Atlas of Inflammation Resolution (AIR) has advanced understanding of multi-component drug effects in inflammation models.
Dr. Gupta has received awards including the Young Scientist Award (2011) and the Model of the Month recognition (2014). His collaborations span institutions like Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston) and the University of Lübeck, focusing on projects like MelAutim (melanoma-autoimmunity interactions) and iPlacenta (systems biology of placental function). He advises industrial partnerships with Biologische Heilmittel Heel GmbH and has secured funding from BMBF (Germany) and other agencies.
