Shaif Ahammed

Dr Shaif Ahammed is a Lecturer in Business and Management at the School of Business and Creative Industries, University of the West of Scotland (UWS), where he joined in 2022 as a full-time faculty member. He previously worked at Edinburgh Napier University and held teaching roles at UCL. His expertise spans Microbusinesses, SMEs, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sustainability, and Business Ethics. Dr Ahammed holds a PhD (2019), MBA (2015), and a first-class degree in Applied Accounting (2011).

His research focuses on trust dynamics in ethnic minority entrepreneurship, CSR practices in Scottish microbusinesses, and sustainability challenges. Recent work addresses hidden barriers faced by ethnic minority entrepreneurs in Scotland, emphasizing trust and policy implications. He has been recognized with the Best Paper Award at the 2024 ISBE Conference for this work.

Dr Ahammed advises doctoral students in areas like Labour Laws, Entrepreneurship, and CSR. He collaborates with organizations like Business Gateway to support SMEs and microbusinesses, aligning with UN SDGs on sustainable development and social responsibility.
