معرفی
Shahn Majid is a Professor of Mathematics at Queen Mary University of London, part of the School of Mathematical Sciences. His research focuses on quantum gravity, algebra, category theory, mathematical physics, and quantum computing. He holds notable positions such as former EPSRC Postdoctoral Fellow, Royal Society University Research Fellow, and Leverhulme Senior Research Fellow.
- Education: BA and Part III at Cambridge, PhD from Harvard.
- Research Interests: Quantum groups, noncommutative geometry, quantum spacetime, and their applications in gravity and quantum information.
- Publications: Author of four books, including Foundations of Quantum Group Theory and Quantum Riemannian Geometry.
His work bridges algebraic methods with quantum gravity, proposing quantum spacetime structures to unify quantum theory and geometry. Recent research includes quantum geodesic flows, braided geometry, and models of quantum gravity on discrete spacetimes.
- Awards: Leverhulme Trust Grant (2024–2027), EU MSCA IF (2021–2023).
- Grants: Focus on Hopf algebroids, quantum variational calculus, and geometric analysis.
Led the London Taught Course Centre and contributes to academic leadership in geometry and mathematical physics.
