Shahin Davoudpour is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, affiliated with the Institute for Public Health and Medicine (IPHAM) - Center for Health Services & Outcomes Research and the Robert J. Havey, MD Institute for Global Health (IGH).
They hold a BBA from California State University, Fullerton (2014), dual MA degrees (2015, 2020), and a PhD (2021), all from the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Davoudpour's research centers on health disparities among sexual and gender minority populations, with emphasis on adolescent mental health, stigma mechanisms (HIV/Mpox), and social determinants of health. Their work applies intersectional frameworks to analyze how gender nonconformity compounds vulnerability to bullying and suicidality, while examining pandemic vaccine uptake through behavioral models.
Recent publications (2022-2025) reveal consistent focus on LGBTQ+ health, particularly youth outcomes during infectious disease outbreaks. Key trends include moral attribution in HIV/Mpox stigma, visual health disparities linked to socioeconomic factors, and methodological innovations in sexual identity measurement within national surveys.
Through IPHAM and Havey IGH, Dr. Davoudpour contributes to global health initiatives and health services research, analyzing community resilience impacts on pediatric ophthalmology outcomes and PrEP access barriers in Chicago health centers.
