Shahidha Bari is a Professor of Fashion Cultures and Histories at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. She holds a PhD in poetry and philosophy from King’s College Cambridge. Her research bridges literature, art, film, and fashion, with focuses on feminism, global fashion, sensory embodiment, and phenomenology.
Bari is an acclaimed broadcaster and critic, hosting BBC Radio 3’s *Free Thinking* and BBC Radio 4’s *Front Row*. She contributes to *The Guardian*, *Financial Times*, *Frieze*, and others. She has authored *Dressed: A Philosophy of Clothes* and *Look Again: Fashion*, exploring dress’s cultural and philosophical dimensions.
Bari serves as a trustee for The Brontë Society and Art Night, and a judge for literary prizes like the Booker Prize and Baillie Gifford Prize. She chairs editorial boards for *New Formations* and *Fashion Studies* journals, and is Creative Director at audio production firm Tempo & Talker.
