Jon Day is a Reader in English and Creative Writing at King's College London, based in the Department of English within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. He joined King’s in 2014 after completing a DPhil at the University of Oxford, where he also earned his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. His research focuses on Anglo-Irish modernism, the philosophy of consciousness, urban studies, and creative non-fiction. He teaches literary modernism and creative writing, and supervises PhD students in these fields.

Day has judged major literary prizes including the Man Booker Prize (2016) and the Wellcome Book Prize (2019). He volunteers with Speakers for Schools and writes occasionally about pigeon racing for TalkSport.
