Seymour E. Goodman

Overview

Seymour E. Goodman is a Regents Professor at Georgia Tech, holding appointments in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs (Ivan Allen College) and the School of Cybersecurity and Privacy (College of Computing). He is also an Adjunct Professor in the School of History and Sociology. Dr. Goodman’s roles include Co-Director of the Center for International Strategy, Technology, and Policy and former Co-Director of the Georgia Tech Information Security Center. He is Director Emeritus of the Sam Nunn Security Program and a National Associate of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine.

Research Focus

Dr. Goodman specializes in information technology developments, their societal impacts, and security implications for critical infrastructure. Recent interests include curriculum design for cybersecurity education and resilience of digital systems.

Co-founded the Georgia Tech Information Security Center (GTISC) and led the Consortium for Research in Information Security and Policy (CRISP) at Stanford. Active in international cybersecurity initiatives, including ITU collaborations.
