Dr. Sevil Aksoy is an Associate Professor at Gaziantep University, Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education. She has been serving at Gaziantep University since 2010, initially at the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center, and later at the Faculty of Education. Prior to her current position, she worked at Middle East Technical University and Pamukkale University.
Her academic credentials include:

- Master's in Turkish Language Education and Teaching (2008), Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences
- Bachelor's in Turkish Language Teaching (2005), Balikesir University, Necatibey Faculty of Education
Dr. Aksoy's research focuses on Turkish language education, teaching Turkish as a foreign language, children's literature, speaking education, and reading comprehension. Her work explores innovative teaching methodologies, assessment techniques, and the integration of technology in language education. She has made significant contributions to understanding how students develop language skills and how educators can effectively support this process through tailored instructional approaches.
Her recent publications demonstrate a strong emphasis on children's literature analysis, speaking skill development, and the teaching of Turkish to non-native speakers. Her research often employs quantitative and qualitative methodologies to examine language teaching effectiveness, student self-efficacy, and curriculum development in Turkish language education.
Dr. Aksoy has supervised numerous graduate students, currently guiding two doctoral candidates and eight master's students. Her administrative experience includes serving as Deputy Director of the Institute (2018-2020) and Deputy Director of the Research and Application Center (2014-2015) at Gaziantep University.
She teaches courses at all academic levels, from undergraduate courses like Special Teaching Methods and Turkish Language to graduate courses on Turkish Programs and Mother Tongue Education Theories.
