Severin Kitanov is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Salem State University. He has also taught at Boston College and Gordon College. His academic focus spans medieval scholastic theology, philosophy of religion, and paleography.

Kitanov’s publications include a monograph on Beatific Enjoyment in Medieval Scholastic Debates (2014) and peer-reviewed articles analyzing scholastic thinkers like Richard FitzRalph, Thomas Bradwardine, and Peter of Candia. His work spans topics such as the relationship between love and pleasure, mnemonics in medieval education, and the theological legacy of Saint Augustine and Peter Lombard.
