Dr. Seungho Lee is a Lecturer in Finance at the Business School, University of Aberdeen. He holds a PhD in Finance from Concordia University, an MBA in International Finance from Middlebury Institute of International Studies, and a Bachelor of Economics from Kyung Hee University. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and serves in leadership roles including Head of the Finance Group and Programme Lead for MSc Finance and MSc International Finance and Political Relations. He is also a member of the Senatus Academicus until 2028.

Dr. Lee's research focuses on core areas in finance, including international investment, financial risk management, cryptocurrency market efficiency, climate risk in banking, and investor behavior influenced by cultural and informational asymmetries. His work bridges empirical finance with behavioural and environmental dimensions, particularly in emerging and developed equity markets, commodity markets, and digital asset ecosystems.
His recent publications (2022–2024) demonstrate a strong trend toward studying market efficiency under stress—such as during the pandemic and climate crises—and exploring the role of information asymmetry and cultural differences in shaping investor reactions. His work also investigates co-movement between asset classes and pricing efficiency in cryptocurrency markets, reflecting a growing interest in FinTech and sustainable finance.

Dr. Lee is actively involved in PhD supervision, currently advising Anwar Alfailakawi and Yuetong Guo, and has successfully supervised Sania Wadid to completion. He also contributes to academic service as a reviewer for journals including European Financial Management, Finance Research Letters, and Journal of Asset Management. Additionally, he provides consulting services to organizations such as Select Sector SPDRs, Rakuten, Inc., and Citrix Systems, Inc., linking academic research with real-world financial practice.
He is affiliated with the Department of Finance at the University of Aberdeen and collaborates with researchers globally, including institutions in Canada, France, South Korea, and the United States.
